It is with great pride and joy that we have completed Campus for the Young – a programme which, over the last eight months, has been a space for intensive development, cooperation and real empowerment of young people. For us, it was not just a project – it was a joint journey during which young people, supported by tutors, developed their talents, gained experience and discovered how much they can achieve.
As part of the Campus, participants carried out their own mini-projects – social, educational and artistic. They chose the topics themselves, planned the activities and made the decisions. Thanks to this, they gained more than just knowledge – they gained a sense of influence, responsibility and satisfaction from the real results of their own work. It was a practical school of agency – and they passed with flying colours.
Regular workshops developing key skills for the future were an integral part of the programme: communication, teamwork, visual thinking, self-presentation and public speaking. These skills not only helped participants to successfully implement their projects, but will also be an invaluable asset in their further education and professional life.
Campus also offers concrete opportunities for the future. Many participants decided to take part in a camp counsellor course, thanks to which they gained qualifications to work with children and young people. This is an important step towards further sharing their commitment and experience – and perhaps the beginning of a career in education or social work.
We are extremely grateful to all participants for their energy, creativity and commitment, and to our tutors for their wise guidance and invaluable support. Campus for the Young has shown that young people not only want to take action, but are able to do so with passion and responsibility.
Although the project has formally ended, in reality… this is just the beginning. Because young people know that they can. And they will continue to act!
The ‘Campus for the Young’ project was financed by the National Institute of Freedom – Centre for Civil Society Development as part of the Youth Fund of the Ministry of Civil Society.
