Join us for a series of free outdoor workshops – a family WALK in the woods with Forest Maker!

A family walk in the forest – in other words, a micro-expedition full of discoveries!

Join us for a unique series of nature field workshops at Campus Bemke! Together with Forest Maker educators, we will go on a walk during which we will discover forest secrets, check out what is happening under the leaves, in the hollows and between the branches, and think about how we can help nature.

If you have taken part in the planting of our Micro Forest you will certainly want to go back there and find out how to look after it, observe and measure the growth of the plants you have dug in. All this and plenty of interesting facts, knowledge and practice have been prepared for you by the Forest Maker educators you had the chance to meet at the Spring Festival. And if not, nothing lost!

It can be a family adventure, a form of relaxation or a nice time spent outdoors. All ages are welcome!

We meet at the picturesque Campus Bemke (and its surroundings).

Each meeting will last 3h from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Please dress as a true nature explorer!

Workshop dates and topics to choose from:

  • 26 April 2025 How to help nature by doing little? Flora of our neighbourhood. Can microforests be the solution to biodiversity decline in Poland?
  • 10 May 2025. About native flora in forests and gardens: plant, protect, replant, support biodiversity – can our gardens and schools be like small National Parks or micro reserves? Plant or do nothing and let nature overgrow?
  • 18 May 2025 Attack of the clones? Why are invasive alien species (IGOs) terrorising our nature? Our educators will talk about nature-friendly gardening, native flora, how to combat invasive species and where to start.
  • 1 June 2025. Nature is suffering from a drought! No one needs to be convinced about the drought, which causes huge damage to agriculture, forestry and our gardens.
  • 14 June 2025 The second life of a tree. The forest needs wood! The fact that nothing is wasted in the forest ecosystem and that the forest needs mess, i.e. decaying, rotting wood, will be argued by educators during a nature-education micro-trip.
  • 21 June 2025. First of all, start mulching! We will talk about mulching, forest recycling, the fact that nothing is wasted in nature and that the end of life is a new beginning – we will talk about this during nature observations on a micro-trip.

You can sign up for all meetings or choose individual dates.
